SMP – wildlife and dogs.

Sugar Mill Ponds is our nature reserve and is a special place for our wildlife.  Through sensitive management, dedicated volunteers and supporters we strive to ensure the wildlife has a safe haven to live, feed and breed.  The Ponds is also a special place for us to have a peaceful walk. Do you have sight of your dog all the time during your walk around the Ponds? The Ponds is a dog friendly area too.  This has always been the case and will continue provided their owners are responsible for cleaning up after them.  Dogs are allowed as long as they are well-behaved and are kept under control, and provided their owners clear up their dogs’ mess, everyone can safely enjoy the Ponds. The Ponds respectively advise that your dog is kept on a lead particularly at this time of year when the wildlife are preparing for new life.  By keeping disturbances to a minimum our wildlife will thrive and be a joy to watch in the coming months and years.
